Slimming Down, anyone?

Me and one of my friends here, have been looking all over the net for a good corset that comes in an affordable price. :D Gosh, it was difficult..and well i wasnt surprised either:P We were thinking of having one posted from Malaysia since kat Canada nih orang macam tak pakai corset yang full body tuh.

Our jaws dropped when we came across this particular product, said to be a hit in Malaysia, comes around for RM2500. Gosh, that costs me a leg, err, his leg :P. But being women, we cant stop gazing at those gorgeous looking corset, aww...and started to calculate... A corset plus the shipping would cost us around CAD$1000 per person. Aduhh~ biar betul.

So I decided to press my luck, telling him how this particular product that sounds to good to be true, especially the part where it erases scar and stretch marks like a magic wand, and tone down the stomach so that you could look like angelina jolie all the time, and eases constipation, and circulate the body temperature..and,and has some other functions sort of detoxification etc etc etc, REALLY exist. Manalah tau dia terbuka hati nak belikan.. He didnt believe me, so I told him that this particular product uses infrared technology..

I was ready to beg him until he got tired and said, "ok", but then he laughed a bit and said,

Him: "There is no such thing as infrared clothing. There's no way how some clothes can generate FIR."

Me: "You know, certain elements like volcano rocks can emit weak electromagnet, right? So maybe there are some kind of materials or fabrics that they used, to produce this infrared thingy" (heh, ada hati nak menang lagi..:P Siap cakap dengan tone you-dont-know-all-the-things-in-this-world)

Him: WE did the experiment in the lab and we need certain devices plus plug to emit the infrared. There is no way that a fabric can produce infrared that easily. Is it attached to any plug then?

Me: (Ganggg...speechless)

So I've made my own reasearch :P about FIR clothing. Gigih sungguh nak cantik, perempuan betul...
1. We know that the IR wavelengths is from 1.0 mm to 0.7 um..kan?
2. But do you know that our body also absorb and release infrared radiation?

3. Most importantly, fabrics do not emit anything [2]. Unlike infrared devices that plug in, fabrics don't plug in, there is no heat to be released from the material.
4. The IR heat comes from our own body. When the temperature increased, it emits greater amount of IR [3] as shown in the following graphs.

5. All these clothes/knee wraps/corsets etc only act as the insulators, to prevent the body heat and IR from escaping (portable steam sauna?) [2].
6. It is still unlikely to say that there are such things as remote FIR or portable IR sauna clothes, because two common methods of converting an infrared remote control signal (0.7 – 0.9 um wavelength) into electrical signal is via an infrared photodiode or phototransistor [4].

I bet nobody ever found one the above photodiode in the so-called-patented-clothes yet, right? Common clothes from certain fabric can also act as body heat insulator, naturally.
