Alala...Aisyah

Aisyah's presence is so dear to me, to my life. Thus, I've been trying very hard to avoid telling stories tentang Aisyah... tatau naper.. Mungkin i prefer to keep all the sweetness to myself :P...

Aisyah nowadays tengah musim ajuk2 perbuatan... dia akan ambil wet tissue lap lantai, kat mana yang dia rasa nak lap. Pastu dia akan sapu sampah dengan penyapu yang oversize compared to her, kat mana yang dia rasa nak sapu. Yang negatif pun ada banyak juga...Cam orang marah dia akan angkat jari telunjuknya kat orang tu, cam warning 'no, no'...Huhu.. cam tau jer dia ikut saper tuh...

Sekarang ni, bila dia tengok baby kat tv commercial atau mana-mana, dia akan jerit...
"Alalalala"....
Hehehe...
Ikut saper yer agaknya :P
Pastu yang tak tahannya, bila dia jerit sambil senyum simpul
"Alaaa..."
intonasi cam waktu mamanya cakap "Alaa...cutenya"
...
...
...
bila dia tengok gambarnya sendiri.

Quesera quesera

I am forever grateful to the government under TDM's rules. A leader should lead, by various definitions. That's what he did.

This government, is making enemy with each and every citizen living in this motherland. Lies after lies, tales after tales...

They might have forgotten, that TDM during those days have successfully produced few hundred thousands elites and expertises whom might have possesed diplomas, diploms, degrees, master degrees, phds or even post phds, and might as well, not confined within academic achievements . Most of these people travel all around the world and keep in touch with people from all around the globe, in searching for knowledge.

In short, they foresee the lies and the consequences of these days leadership's actions towards our beloved 'tanah tumpah darah' .

Im not into the idea of flying the flag upside down, this is just a matter of 'concern'
Reminded me of Quesera sera..

"Quesera sera...
Whatever will be will be..
The future is not ours to see.."

Whatever happened to this government? Dengan blogger pun takut. Berapa kerat sangat yang masuk blog dia tuh, dibandingkan dengan yang googling for "Pak Lah" or "KJ" blabla..
Maybe they should jail google as well...

Student Class Presentation

Tarikh: 8~10 Oktober 2008.
Tempat: Dewan UTHM

Setiap tahun pelajar2 dari kelas Jepun UMJ1312 diwajibkan menyertai Malam Bahasa Asing. Ada pameran kt booth, ada pembuatan replika dan ada pertunjukan pentas...
So, datangla ~smile~

My part is the "stage performance"...So esok and lusa, saya akan judge student punya persembahan. Preselection..Before the final selection...
Some of them were very determined!! They seemed quite excited to be able to apply Japanese Language in 'something' and to be able to perform on stage. Im quite amazed and overwhelmed.

Seronok tengok budak-budak nih! Teringat zaman2 dulu yang penuh energy and dreams. Sentiasa bersemangat... :)
Sentiasa sengih :)
hehe...dah senseinya pun rilex2 jer dalam kelas...

Umur budak2 nih sama jer ngan my bros kt uni, so basically I've been treating them as if Im treating my own brothers... Walaupun ada juga yang try very hard to be annoying, tak nak datang kelas tapi tanak kena deduct marks etc.. the number are quite neglegible. I must say that Im enjoying my time at class very much.. I thank Him for blessing me with such energetic and wonderful batch.

There were around 11 groups and only one group would be doing stage presentation.
Though...
I have better ideas :)
WAITTT~

Little late birthday gifts

Thanks to Aisyah, although she has managed to return the upside down display (by throwing it to the middle of the yard) to its 'normal state', half of the keypads have mulfunctioned. Cant even unlock it...
The N6610i was a birthday present from him, worth rm660++ at that time, was considered cheap since it was bought in Germany. Nowadays, cant even get the shop to offer for more than rm50 for the same model.

My hubby's reaction? Was it my hallucination or was he really happy with the incident, petang tu jugak dia ajak beli phone baru. For me, phone is just a tool for keeping in touch with people, kalau beli nokia 3310 yg dulu2 tu pun dh perfect, but for him, he wanted a little touch of the latest tech...nak 3G.. me? I dun mind :D
so off we went and bought a phone...opss, a pair of Ericson K5301. harhar...

Dia cakap, ini birthday presents for us.
He'll pay mine, I'll pay his... boleh ker camtu? :P

Chuukan

Today was the long awaited chuukan or midterm. Rasanya my students should have scored 100%. Chuukan ni tak susah langsung. Setakat terjemah beberapa perkataan dan tulis hiragana.
My students dah biasa buat karangan dalam kelas, susun ayat, tulis ayat, create ayat guna applikasi perkataan2 yang dah belajar, Japanese to English translation and English to Japanese translation. Siap dah buat terjemahan pantun bahasa melayu ke jepun lagi. So compared to the level of this examination, surely they would score 100%. Supposedly... Hahaha...
Good!
They should have possessed a very strong basic on reading and writing hiragana and katakana.... Kanji, belajar sendiri. tak sempat nak ajar 2000 kanji tu. Vocab pun tak cukup diorang nih. Tapi kenalah ikut modul.
Btw, my upcoming quiz would be much difficult compared to this one.
------------HOWEVER-------------

I caught 2 students cheating redhandedly. Girls. One from my section and the other from Halil sensei's..And the other 9 plus students had their paper "relinquished" since I saw the attempts to do the same.
JUST HOW LOW COULD ONE WILLINGLY PUT HERSELF? HOW LOW?
AND WHOM ARE THEY TRYING TO CHEAT? ME? ALLAH?
HOW DOES THAT MAKE THEM FEEL? GOOD? OR VERY VERY GOOD?
I was thinking on deducting half of their marks. My husband suggested me giving them zero, the standard penalty for cheating on exam.
Being lazy is another, but cheating is...
foul, disgustful, repellent, disgusting, yucky, distasteful, loathsome, unthinkable...
..
..
I have lost words...
It's ramadan.

Karipap FKMP

My hubby invited me to join the iftar feast for the FKMP staff and the family. Huhu.. I like free food :D cant help it. Since it was going to be held half potluck style (they'd serve foods but still invited some dishes from FKMP families), he asked me to prepare some 'badak berendam', his recent fav but later changed it
to 'cocktail pudding', another fav of him, due to the shortage of supplies kat our rumah and me fearing that 'badak berendam' will lose their shapes by the time the iftar finally came.
The next morning, on that particular date, after hubby went for his usual task, I decided to take my darling baby to buy some stuff for that pudding, but found out that we were both "LOCKED FROM OUTSIDE THE HOUSE". The key was left inside the car! The car, of course, is with him there in UTHM.
Huhu!
Called him...predictably, he answered,
"Buat jer la apa2 yang patut. Abang sibuk nih!"
Huhu...classic.
Penat termenung dua tiga jam, something came into my mind! Although we ran out of 'ration'... I still have 'kentang' and 'tepung gandum'...
Haha! Karipap! I'll make karipap!!
Mind you!
Kali terakhir saya buat karipap ialah pada tahun 2002.
7 tahun yg lalu..Kt Jepun. Tu pun senior yang wat doh...
Strictly based on my MIL's "secret recipy for guaranteed crispy and less oily dough" and my own preference of minched meat and combination of two brands of curry powder... I did it.
I didnt have the mould so the end result was SERIOUSLY UGLY!! UGLY!! SUPER UGLY!!
Upon showing him the fried ones, he started to tease,
"Hehe..Abang cakap nih orang gaji yang buat..."
"Tak pun abang wat2 tak kenal la... nnti abang tunjuk, nih dia nih yang buat...dia dia"

Jahat!
Reluctant to think bout what others might say, I brought the ugly tiny currypuffs to Dewan Penyu. Dahla kat situ ada karipap yang beautifully plaited 5,6 pinggan...isk.. laying next to them, my currypuffs look exactly like the ugly duckling.
Tap kitorang tak sempat makan. They were silent hit. Even me and my hubby cant even take a look of their whereabout.
They were still a lot of currypuff leftovers, but none was mine.
Huhu... Laku rupanya karipap hodohku.
But my hubby masih nk ngusik,
"Huhu..agaknya diorang buang kut. Ingat apa benda la nih... tak macam kuih"
:P
yer la tu..
Pastu on the way back, ada orang tuh request, "nak rasa sebijik pun jadila..."
Haha...tu lerr... balik, sempat lagi mengadun few more currypuffs.
Having taking a few bites, my hubby exclaimed
"Sedap! Abang bagi 5 bintang!"
Hehe...
Sambil makan sambil dia mengomel "Sedapnya sedapnya..."
My hubby was happy...
And Im flattered...

I CAN COOK!!
Hahaha... tak sangka. me happy happy...tak belila karipap pas ni,
thank u mak jai, goodbye kakak karipap!

Happy September Eleven

Happy september eleven!
No!
Not that september eleven!
Not that day when that ugly conspiration shook the earth.
But this september eleven!
His september eleven!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, HUBBY!
And I'm announcing to the world, the renewal of my love.

Learn Japanese 2: a gyou, ka gyou

I dont expect one to be a perfect Japanese speaker, if they've been self studying all this while. It's difficult for them to check the pronunciation by themself. And to get them to learn all those unfamiliar symbols aka hiragana etc requires a tremendous effort and huge motivation. Thus, in this informal class of mine, im gonna do it the frendliest way possible.

The first two row of syllables are
1. "a" gyou
2. "ka" gyou

where gyou refers to row, atau baris.

so,
1. "a" gyou refers to --> a, i, u, e, o
2. "ka" gyou refers to --> ka, ki, ku, ke, ko

How to pronunce them? No, it's not what you might've been thinking. Japanese is pronunce the way it is written. Sort of "baku" pronunciation. Don't mix them up with English pronunciations/spellings...

How to write them?
Japanese is best written with calligraphy brushes. The 3 basic rules to write Japanese syllables/kanji are
1-from left to right,
2-from top to bottom,
3-IN PREDETERMINED ORDER!

Take note that even if you were to write using the commonly available pens or pencils etc, try to write/imagine as if you were using a brush.
Huhu...wish I can explain it in a more beautiful way...
How about these? -->

Learn Japanese 1: Learn Hiragana

Hiragana is the basic syllables (not alphabets) in Japanese language. For a serious Japanese learner, it is strongly advised that one should begin with learning how to read and write hiragana.

50 0n

The fifty syllables are called "Gojyuu on" or "50 sounds".
a gyou refers "a" row : a, i, u, e, o
ka gyou refers to "ka" row; ka, ki, ku, ke, ko.... and so on

If you have zero knowledge in Japanese language, and wanted to do self study on it,
start with:
1. Learn how to pronunce Hiragana syllables correctly
2. Learn how to write Hiragana

Basically, writing in Japanese is full of art and rules, and very interesting. I think I will write on it in the next entry.
For now, please note that there is no "si" (and few other syllables, to be discussed later)... thus, those with the name Siti will basically ended up sounds "Shiti"..

Exam: The opposite point of view

Previously I was a student. Tapi kali ini, rasa berdebar plak nak tunggu hasil ajaran kepada students selama ini, samada berbaloi atau tidak. Minggu depan exam..
Before I started teaching that day, I was kinda reminded to -> not to put a sky high hope on my students, since most of them would not be so willing to work/study hard. I got the idea. But what can I do, being a teacher, surely I'm putting certain degree of hopes. Huhu...tataula lepas nih camner..
I've been observing that there were few types of students. Sesetengah student nih bila kita tau namanya, makin dia ke belakang dan makin dia segan, mengecut dan mengecut. The other type, bila kita tau namanya and point him/her out once a while, dia makin bersemangat dalam kelas. Bagaimanapun, bersemangat dalam kelas tak bermaksud rajin di luar kelas.. No elaboration required :P
However, I was touched by these few students. Sitting silently in the back of the class...they came out with their own revision books, and scored almost perfectly in many tests/ revision tests in class. Hopefully they would retain the high marks in actual exams. There were also the type that were loud in the class, but some of them were not bad though. Some were very good indeed. In opposed to that, I kinda disregard the type yang takut buat salah...takut nak menjawab dan mencuit2 kawan bertanyakan jawapan... padahal pilihan jawapan ada dua jer, tertulis kat slide lak tu...Saya tak kisah kalau orang tu quite slow sket, tapi yang jenis takut nak wat salah nih...isskkk...geramnya.
I myself not the kind of a person whom can confront a stranger's eyes, but in formal occasions, waktu presentation ker experiment ker group work ker dlm kelas ker... i dun mind.kan ker nak belajar tuh? jawab jer la, bukan ada markah.

Just like an Arab proverb:
Dwell not upon thy weariness, thy strength shall be according to the measure of thy desire.

Pictograph

Pictograph?
Scientifically translated, pictograph is a way of representing statistical data using symbolic figures to match the frequencies...

Talking about Japanese (or Chinese) characters, Kanji... pictograph refers to the way of representing a meaning in a symbol, later on modified to the present Kanji character which carries certain meaning and sounds.
Since I taught my students days in a week in Japanese, I had no choice but to relate and show them of how those weird sounding names came from.
Well, sort of like this...

Japanese: Days in a week
DaysJapaneseCharacters
SundayNichi youbi日 曜日
MondayGetsu youbi月 曜日
TuesdayKa youbi火 曜日
WednesdaySui youbi水 曜日
ThursdayMoku youbi木 曜日
FridayKin youbi金 曜日
SaturdayDo youbi土 曜日

So basically, now, instead of Sun, Mon, Tues, Wed, Thurs, Fri, Satur...we have Nichi, Getsu, Ka, Sui, Moku, Kin, Do [Nmemonic is: get a car so 'mak' can do nick]
where all these words refers to the elements of the world.

For example:
Getsu in Getsuyoubi is written as 月, a symbol with the underlying meaning of "Moon"...and the Kanji character 月 is originated from the shape of the crescent moon itself, before it was transformed into this --> 月.
While Nichi ==> written as 日, ==> carries the meaning of "Sun"
How? This is how...

Other characters? Take a guess...

Dont you love Japanese Kanji now? Hehe...

Why bother blogging?

'Somebody' asked me, sort of, "why people love to blog? Cerita pasal diri-sendiri, nyampahh" (dengan intonasi nak mengusik alias nak cari gaduh)
Yea, good question. Why do I blog?
1. I wanna know what people/other housewives do... thus, it at least, makes me feel that Im not the only one struggling with house chores or baby blues
2. Nak tengok orang lain masak apa...
3. Nak tengok babies/ family org lain
4. I need to remember my good old times, 'now' is something u have to appreciate before it becomes 'then'
5. Writing make me deal better with my feeling (anger management huh?)
6. I need to remember things, bersyukur bahawa saya pernah melalui kesusahan dan keperitan, and got over it
7. I want to keep the pics of my beloved ones in place reachable from almost anywhere in this world-the net

...well yea, the list can go on, whatever the reasons, it keeps me connected to those whom were kilometres away (in distance) from me...

A better Ramadan

tanpa viva, tanpa morning sickness, tanpa thesis writing/programming, tanpa exams...
dengan Aisyah hadir, tak jauh2 lagi ngan hubby...

Moga Ramadan kali ini hati lebih tenang..
Amiinn...

Ramadan Mubarak...
Mohon ampun segala salah silap, tergurau senda...
Selamat berpuasa...selamat mencari pahala
