Cornstarch Clay Modelling

Ingredients:
1 cup Cornstarch
2 cups salt
water

Preparation:
1. Mix 1 cup cornstarch + 1/2 cup ice water in a bowl.
2. Mix 2 cups salt + 1 cup water in a pan.
3. Stir constantly salt + water mixture over low heat.
4. Remove or lower the heat. Quickly stir in cornstarch + water mixture.
5. Keep stirring until it became thick and reach the clay consistency.

6. I used play-dough cutter to cut the dough into star shape and button.
7. You can dye the dough or paint it once your craft has dried up. We can use either acrylics, watercolors or tempera paints.


Review:
1. This type of clay dries on air. Keep the dough in an air tight container
2. It has grainy texture compared to the previously made 'play-doh'

3. Once it completely dried up, it would be very light and quite durable.

4. Some people simply replaced "salt" with "baking soda"

6. The mixture is quite grainy, you might consider to add some more water or at least, do make sure that the salt are completely dissolved in the water before u add in the "cornstarch + water" mixture

7. Small parts can be quite fragile, need to be handled with love :D

8. The models made from this clay can last for quite a long time :) So it was me whowere extra excited about this project :)
