We had a late dinner last night. The house assistant was 800++ km away in her hometown for some unavoidable reasons. It was a monthly ritual. Although i've been doing all the cook myself, and she would help me only with the messy preparation,i found out that it actually took me twice the time normally spent to cook the same food and to clean the kitchen. Huhu~
Ive made some simple masak lemak cili padi ayam, a very simple telur masak sos, and an extra simple taugeh masak kicap.
The day before was an exhausting and long day. I felt fainted few times during my normal visit to the sewing class. To wish that i can get away with these simple meal maybe too much, and a little drop in the blood pressure shouldnt be an excuse, i know, but at least, i made him his request, masak lemak cili padi.
After he finished his meal, he started to sip on the soup from the taugeh masak kicap. It was a rare sight, for first, he wasnt a fan of vege- to be honest. and secondly, he didnt really like taugeh masak kicap! Even those prepared by my MIL!
Him : Sedaplah taugeh masak kicap nih!
Me : Wow wee, abang makan taugeh masak kicap?!
Him : Hehe, sedap!
Me : Sedap? Aikk...
Him : Rasa macam masakan orang kampung.
Me : Memangla tu masakan kampung. Tapi selalu tak suka (makan)..
Him : Yang nih rasa macam orang kedah yang masak.
Me : Aikk, selalu kutuk2 masakan orang kedah? (inside joke)
Him : Haah, tapi ni special. Nih macam masakan orang kedah yang baru kahwin.
Me : .....
Grr... after all,
was it meant for compliment?Or is he actually...

betulah agaknya taugeh masak kicap masakan kampung dari kedah ekk. Orang Johor baru first time dengar nih kan ajzie..huhu
