The Tale of A Mother

This is a beautiful story - of a mother, and my apology for being unable to convey the message in more beautiful words..

Last Saturday, we visited the family of a friend who involved in an accident. Their car skidded and crashed the median in the highway in the near-fatal accident where the black ice (icy condition of the road, after wet snow) was said to be the caused, since there was no overtaking or sudden lane changing during that time, and no other car was involved.

The car was totally out of control. The front tire came out and the friction of the metal caused the sparks of the fire. The front mirror scattered into pieces.Thick and black smoke and finally fire came out from underneath their car. The fear that the car would finally burst into fireball began to struck her mind. Both her children was speechless still in the back of the car.

The mother was heavily pregnant and was at her 8th month when the accident took place. Subhanallah, with her big womb, could still jump out of the car while the car was still moving at 100 to 110km/h.. Even more surprising, this mother, whose even small movement was normally restricted due to the heaviness and weakness in her third semester pregnancy, could turn back and pulled the automatic door from outside, while the car was still on the move at 100km/h.

She drained her last energy to save her two beloved children, dragged them away from the car and took them to the side of the road, before she completely lost her energy and passed out on the side of the cold highway.. while watching the car skidded direct onto the concrete block on the side of the road with her husband still in the car!

When she finally regained her consciousness, a passerby took them inside his car so that they can warm up. It was a very cold day, a flurry day following a heavy snow the day before that. Her husband finally came out of the car uninjured, after several kicks on the door, since the door was stuck and completely damaged.

After a while, the children were still unable to utter a single word while the husband couldnt even recognize their own son, as the aftermath of the traumatic experience. When the paramedic finally arrived, they expected to see casualties due to the terrifying sight of the car. The car was in total damage and hit the concrete wall, but all of them escaped without single bruise which, needless to say, surprised everyone there, including the motorists who helped them.

There are few points to ponder:
1. It was an automatic car, the door will not open if the car was still on the move.
But the mom managed to force the door open to save her children, while the husband still has to kick the door to go out.

2. The mom was in her 8th month pregnancy and could barely sit for a long time. But the energy she gained in such situation was such a miracle and unimaginable.

2. The mirrors broke and scattered to pieces due to the collision but they escaped without single bruise, which was very unacceptable to the logic of our mind.
The mom said that she saw a "white wing" just before the mirror broke, which definitely wasnt the airbag. The wing hid her face from the scatter of the mirror, thus completely saved her from any injury that could have been caused even by a single piece of flying glass. Walllahua'lam..

3. When the daughter finally able to speak again, she hold her mother's hand and whisper, "I love you, Ibu"

4. The first word that came from her son after a long silent was, "Thank you, Ibu, for saving my life. If you didnt save me, I dont know what would have happened to me."

I was speechless to hear such stories. My heart melted. And I fell to tears. Such story was too touching and reminds us, on how we were distracted to such hatred and ugliness of our own heart, when the nearest thing to us is the death. Life is so fragile.. and can be so short and unpredictable.

It also remind me that a mother is not a job neither a position. A mother is a gift of love.

A mother gave her life to Him, when she willingly carry us in her womb and finally gave birth to us, fully aware that she was risking her own life. A mother gave her life once, and would do it again and again for us, expecting almost nothing in return.

He (PBUH) said, "Your mother, then your mother, then your mother, then your father, then your nearest, then nearest". [Al-Bukhari and Muslim].

Asam Pedas di Christmas Eve

Hari tuh -46'C, kami sekeluarga bergilir -gilir demam. Tapi macam tak serik-serik nak tinggal dediam kat rumah.

Wet Snow 10cm to 15cm (24 - 26 Dec)

3 hari minggu lepas bermalam di rumah kawan, sebab husband kami sama-sama takder kat umah selama 3hari. Dah ler malam first snow storm, malasnya nak stay sengsorang.. Snow tebal sampai masuk isi minyak kat gas station tapi hampir2 tak boleh keluar, tebal amat. Seram bila ingatkan dah stuck kat tengah-tengah salji tuh. Majlis bandaran (city?) diorang pula cuti 3hari sejak Krismas, n tak bersihkan snow! Nak masuk apartment pun kena redah snow sampai atas buku lali...

Boxing Day and Asyura Day (26 Dec)
Pegi boxing day tapi kelakar, sebab kitorang takder apa target nak beli n malas nak keluar sejuk2, makanya kitorang keluar lepas maghrib. Tapi terkejut giler bila tengok beberapa bahagian Walmart kosong - especially toys, pinggan-mangkuk, comforter..banyak jugak rak kosong dan bersepah-sepah. Macam ala-ala kena rompak secara very selective. Asyura Day fell on the same day.. Kami solat di Ellice mosque dan kebetulan ada jamuan..tapi malu nak join sebab tak puasa..huhu~ tak ingat pun aritu dah 9hb.. Tapi pastu kawan cik F telefon tanya kenapa tak makan dulu :P. Hihi~ ni namanya takder rezeki..

Christmas Eve (24 Dec Malam)
Me and Cik F serbu rumah Azie. Lama dah berhajat nak mintak dia ajar asam pedas Melaka. Sedapp.. Saya beli 8 ekor ikan kembung yang gumok2, tapi tu pun puas memujuk dia cuma nak sekor jer..sebab dah selalu sangat dia makan/masak asam pedas. 2 ekor dikendurikan kat rumah dia, memang best makan sejuk2..berebut2... kenyang nasi, cicah dengan roti plak. Sedap juga rupanya asam pedas dicicah roti nih.
Lagi 5 ekor, 'terpaksa' kami dua orang makan..huhu~ kucing ker apa..

MakiZushi - The Making Of

Mana lebih best, "eating" ker "making"?

Haritu ada orang janji nak tunjukkan cara membuat makizushi, tapi sebab sekarang nih musim2 exam, so definitely dia akan busy with all the papers and stuff..but when she rang me to remind me that she still had the promise unfulfilled :P, wahh~ apa lagi :D Terus saya call other friends of mine, yang juga sushi lovers, Ms S and Ms F, kut nak join sama :)

Bahan-bahan simple aja..tuna + mayonnaise, radish pickle, cucumber, fried goma, kurogoma, telur...semua potong memanjang.Radish pickle tu sangat sedap dan penyeri sushi..tapi kena be careful, nak cari yang takder alcohol memang susah..

Beras sushi. 1 cawan beras sushi = 1 cawan air.
The best sushi ialah yang tak lembik n tak keras sangat, tapi kejap. Kami campur sushi vinegar + bijan goreng..tastier :)

p/s: Beras nih Sougou yang masak..tererla..
Mula-mula letak 3 pot jer, tapi habis, tak sempat hidang. Tambah lagi 3 pot..hehe.

Big heart pada senseitachi, dari kiri Satoka, Sanae, and Sougou. Tapi dua beradik yang comel nih, Sanae and Sogou, sanggup susah payah datang padahal tengah sibuk2 packing nk balik Jepun lusanya. Ureshiiyo :)

Muka excited lebih, nih sushi pertama saya tau!! Cant help it :P
Yang nih yang seaweed kat dalam pulak :)

6 pot nasi sushi, tapi ni jer yang sempat hidang :D ngehehe.. Bila tengok next video, baru perasan kenapa tinggal banyak nih jer

Baby sitter...ahaha :P

Kat bawah nih cara-cara buat makizushi bagi orang yang first time nak buat macam saya jugak. Sila concentrate pada sushi, bukan dialog2 latar yer :)

Lepas tu, malamnya husband Satoka and Ms S tak disangka-sangka sudi datang kejap. Cik F buat cekodok Melayu + Korea and teh india.. makan dengan sushi Jepun :P

=====================================================
Keesokannya, kami ke rumah kawan minta dia tulong ajar nasi kerabu :) Bukan open house, tapi dia ajarkan resipi dan kami masak ramai2.. Tapi cik F tambah isi daging (minched) yang digoreng dengan sesame oil, tak penah makan b4 nih tapi seriously sedap.

Tapi the thing is masak ramai-ramai nih memang best. Nak makan pun tak sogan2. Next time nak masak-masak lagi. Bahan-bahan sumer bawak sendiri tapi nak minta diorang ajar somtam, asam pedas, sate, nasi afghan, lagii..err, tamak!

==================================================
Keesokannya lagi, open house umah supervisor mr Z. Punnnnnn ada sushii..Ahahaha, what a coincidence :P Jemu?! Tak jugak :) hehe

Kesimpulannya, minggu nih mungkin minggu sushi :)

YobiTsute and Keigo

Bukan kasta sebenarnya, tapi macam memuliakan orang (honorifics), maksudnya kalau dengar orang cakap, kita boleh tau "what is the social rank of the person that he is speaking to" or at least, how he think of that person.

Honorifics, or "keigo" ni ada lagi pecahan2nya..

Agak complicated mula-mula belajar dulu.

Me: "S san no goshujin to okosan wa dokoni irrasyaimasu ka?"
She: "Err..Oko san ga?"
Me: "Iya...Ano.Kodomo ga"
She: "Aahh..Amarinimo teinei dakara"
Kami: (Gelak-gelak)

Me: "S san punya suami dan anak di mana sekarang?"
She: "Err..Oko san?" (cik Oko?)
Me: "Iya...Ano.Kodomo ga" (Bukan, err, anak)
She: "Aahh, bahasa (yang digunakan) amatlah sopan sangat..
Kami: (Gelak-gelak)

Dalam keigo, anak = okosan. Bahasa standard, anak = ko/ kodomo. Cik S ingatkan okosan = Oko san (Puan Oko? hehe..)

Ehehe..tu waktu first time jumpa Ms S, dia pun dah lama kat sini sampai keigo pun dia tak pakai dan jarang dengar..hehe. Jadi lawak pula, sebab sekarang bila dah rapat, jangan kata keigo, nama pun dah yobitsute (tak paggil "san") sebab nanti kalau guna "san" belakang nama dia, cik F akan usik-usik..
"Wah~ she called you S sannnnn! Wah~S sannn"
Adihh..hehe

Ayah

Ayah used to treat me like..i don't know, he always made me feel special. Kalau ada majlis apa-apa, ayah mesti datang. Kalau pegi asrama n tiap kali nk g jepun dulu, mesti ayah tolong pack barang..haha. Takde privacy langsung :P Habis "love letters" kena bukak :P Maluu..

Lembik.. Lembut. Lembai. hehe. Yer la, kerja-kerja kat kampung mana boleh buat slow2..

Banyak effort yang ayah curahkan :P Antaranya ialah masuk gua gelap2 n panjat bukit, since umur 5,6 tahun. Itu antara latihan yang best. Yang tak best ialah bila ayah nak masukkan saya ke MRC - Malay Royal College, Sungai Besi.. uhu~ cik tak minat la! Nasib baik borang dah habis, kalau tak, I would be the only girl kut kat situ..:(

Tapi I guess, latihan2 ayah tuh takderla tak berhasil sangat. Kita serupaaa~
- Fearless :P
- Gambler of life
- Stubborn
- Tak peduli apa orang cakap kalau buat benda yang betul...
And the fact that..
- We always have something to dream about, to live our life to the max :)

Terima kasih ayah. Thank you for everything, for being my ayah.
Selamat Hari Lahir, Moga panjang umur dan dikurniakan kesihatan dan ketenangan dunia dan akhirat. Ameen..

Tak Tau Nak Study Apa

Last few days, despite his examination was due soon, he seemed to be extra relaxing and started to annoy me when he peeped into me writing this humble blog and chatting on the fb :P

Me: Dah nak exam nih. Abang tak study ker?
Him: Abang dah habis study, semua dah baca.
(Dalam hati - jawapan macam tu kalau kat sekolah menengah dulu, kompem kena pulau dengan kengkawan)

Him: Abang lagi dekat nk exam lagi tak tau nak study apa... sebab semua dah study.
Me: Hmm.. samalah kita, saya pun lagi dekat nk exam lagi tak tau nak study apa.. sebab semua nak kena study
Me & Him : Kakakaka...

We are totally the opposite of each other..the two faces of a coin. How we manage to be together for 10years - is still my biggest mystery. Alhamdulillah
