In English or Malay Language, we say "dirty" or "gross" or "kotor" to translate Arabic word "haraam" when referring to these haraam animals, which in my humble opinion, might be taken as an insult by our non-muslim neighbors. But in Japanese, there was a better term for explaining "haraam" animals which is "kegarawashii" ... instead of "kitanai" (gross/dirty)

Anak cik F was 7 years old. In the schools all around Canada, it is mandatory to inform the school if your kids have some kind of allergies (or so I was told) as per law requirements or else both the parents and the school may face some kind of
So one day, some government staffs were making a routine visit and ask the students if any of them have allergies. So anak cik F raised his hand. The teachers and the staff were very surprised because they didnt receive any notice from either cik F or her husband about his allergies. The teachers were nervous as well.
Government staff: So do you have any allergies?
Anak cik F: Yeah.
Government staff: What are your allergies?
Anak cik F: Im allergic to all haraam foods.

Last night, Mr Z told me a rather amusing story that took place in the mosque while he was there with his friends for an occasion. There was this tahfiz teacher asking his students aged around 6-7 years old.
Teacher: "Who knows why pig is haraam?"
Students: I know, I know, I know!
Student A: Because the legs of the pig are similar to the leg of the devils! That's why we cant eat pig!
Student B: Because when they slaughter the pigs, they dont read "bismillah"
Teacher: Where did you guys get these ideas?

thanks, atarashii kotoba na..
pas nih sng la nk explain kat diorng. slalu bg reason allergic jek, so kalu kat skool ank2 mmg diorng bg mkn seafood.
sampai dada ckp,"mkn toriniku kat sekolah x boleh. cuma bole mkn yg mama msk jek"...
kdg2 dia main2 kan mama dia " td dada mkn niku kat sekolah" . apalagi bulat la mata mama dia nih. pas tuh sambil gelak2 dia ckp" tak la, dada main2 jek".
ayu,
yup betul, kegarawashi = filth/tercemar. dulu borak2 dengan nihonjin pasal kitanai kegarawashii nih. contoh macam anjing tak boleh pegang sebab kegarawashii bukan kitanai. tapi kegarawashii kebanyakannya untuk binatang/benda/perbuatan, untuk makanan tak kena la.
kegarawashii tuh bahasa agak lama dan ada unsur2 keagamaan/culture sikit. kalau bagitau bebudak kecik nihonjin rasanya diorang tak faham :P
dengan orang tua okla, tapi still kena cakap "kitanai jyanai kedo, musrim kyou ni tottewa, inu to inoshishi wa kegarawashii to iu inshou wo ataeteimasu."
kena polite jugakla..hihi, sensitip isu nih:D
ayu,
tambah sikit, sorry taip kelam kabut b4 this, ada tangan2 kecil kacau.. kalau makanan tak halal cakap "fuketsu" instead of kegarawashii lagi sesuai rasanya...
kalau rajin, cuba tanya sensei
tqvm sensei! domo arigatou..
tp sebenarnya bila dh lama2 kat sni, x de lah sush sgt pon. bnyk jek pilihan mknan yg halal, lgpun kek n oyatsu bnyk yg guna soya bean(daizu) sbg nyuukazaii. cuma yg terang2 haram, mmg la x bole mkn kan..
lgpun kat mesia sebenarnya lg bnyk mknan yg x "halal" sampai label halal jakim pon boleh diciplak, restoren ns kandar/beriyani yg sesuka hati guna label tuh n ect..
sekurang2nya kat sni, kita tahu apa yg kita mkn.
