Friends - that is

Lately it took me a while to digest what friends are. And what they really think of me. Now that Ive been through a lot of up and down in my life, and make friends with a lot of new people along the way, I consider myself as being 'wise' enough to carefully choose whom i want to be with. Back then, some people would simply labelled me as 'memilih kawan'. I knew coz they said it to my face, few many times by few many people.

But to those who know me very, very well, they would certainly notice that apart from the fact that I was rather an introvert girl, the act of being so selective was just a part of being defensive. Who wouldnt, when people that you called 'friends', eat and sleep and play and basuh baju and lap tingkap and kiwi kasut and kongsi bantal and curi mempelam sama-sama kena denda tak keluar outing sama-sama and makan kongsi-kongsi, for 5 good years, stabbed you from your back!! And when you knew it, almost all the familiar faces that you used to call friends, suddenly become strangers. Suddenly were your enemies. How sad...

Things that happened should be kept past. Life goes on!

I am a better me. I can think of myself positively these days. What else matter?

Sometimes I wonder how I survived the nightmare. Im glad it wisen me up. And now I know who are and are not my friends. Girls rivalry is really SCARRRY! Yea, right~ Glad it's over :)

Today, I befriend everyone (yang sudi). But true friends have a special place in my heart and my prayers. I missed the petite Miri girl,the ex-ASMA babes, the 'laser' JMCians, the stylish roommates, the humorious Indonesian, the wise Thai friend, the..the...ahh, I missed my friends.

How to choose a friend? Easy... (Provided that you are not binbo, you can try what i did)

IF YOU ARE FAT.... ask your friend
"Do I look fat?"
A friend will tell you that you look very thin and beautiful
A good friend will tell you that you look a little bit chubby, but it doesnt really matters since you are cute
A true friend will ask you back, "Do you really want to know the truth?"

IF YOU DIDNT SCORE WELL IN THE MIDTERM BUT TOO LAZY TO STUDY... ask your friend
"Do you think I can score this subject?"
A friend will tell you that you will, if you study hard
A good friend will tell you to 'study la'
A true friend will ask you back, "Do You?"

Nope, really. I was just pulling your leg. The simpler way to choose a true friend is to understand that:-->
A TRUE FRIEND treats you the same way regardless of the place you are, or whom you are with. You are yourself and she is herself, everytime everywhere.
A pretentious will immediately change her tones and act differently, and treats you awkwardly when there are certain people there, especially people who she adores/ respects soooo much. In short, suddenly you dont really exist.

But the simplest way is to be yourself, really. People who like you the way you are, is your friend. And among this, true friends are those who stand by you during the rainy days. And the safest way is to ASK HIM.
